Let me give you an example of where I did just that. At a previous position, I offered and marketed events for corporate customers. We experienced an operations team that was responsible for the implementation. For a single event, our customer had some very special requests that my staff assured them. We did not communicate these requests but assumed that the operations team would implement them. On this occasion, this didn't occur. In the end the client was disappointed there was not a smooth transition between earnings and the operations staff and we had to refund the customer, when another project developed we had a compliment since the operations staff was apprehensive to use us again. To turn staff conflict into opportunity, a leader must do five things. First, you must research. Whenever team conflict happens ask the following questions.

Avoid issues before they happen by thinking about events or scenarios ahead of time.  Everybody's needs are unique so listen to every individual and provide a response designed for each.  Powerful communication skills can put you at the front of the industry and help you become a leader.  Assisting clients should be your number 1 goal because without clients, there is no business.

Mediation is one of those skills that unfortunately we need to master. In business, it is only a matter of time before issues of conflict arise and many of these can be controlled and remedied by use of effective mediation skills. Hearing out both parties and coming to a mutual understanding is what it's all about. We don't live in a perfect world, so we know that not everyone will be over the moon with the findings and results but provided it is a solution that can be of professional use and agreeable then we can all shake hands and continue with the common goals within the company.
